Citrix is changing

We have shut down Citrix and moved to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). Please use the Remote Desktop application to access AVD.

How to access Azure Virtual Desktop from a CVC laptop or desktop

The remote desktop application is available on your device. Launch it from the start menu, or Click here. Once open, select the virtual desktop that you’d like to use.

How to personalise your screen set up for Azure Virtual Desktop (not applicable to the web browser option)

• Right click on the CVC Virtual Desktop button and click settings
• Choose the options that you want e.g. multiple screens, launch in full screen etc.

How to access Azure Virtual Desktop from your personal laptop or desktop

For Windows 10/11

• Download and install the remote desktop application – Click here
• Once downloaded and installed, open the application (called Remote Desktop)
• Click 'Subscribe'
• Log in with your CVC email account going through Okta Authentication
• Click the CVC Virtual Desktop icon to load your remote desktop

For MacOS 12 or later

• Download and install the remote desktop application – Click here
• Once downloaded and installed, use Finder to launch Microsoft Remote Desktop
• Click the Workspaces tab at the top of the app window. Then click Add Workspace
• Enter CVC email address and click Add
• Log in with your CVC email account going through Okta Authentication
• Click the CVC Virtual Desktop icon to load your remote desktop

How to access Azure Virtual Desktop from a web browser (restricted functionality but no need to install an application)

• Click Here
  
• Log in with your CVC email account going through Okta Authentication
  
• Click CVC Virtual Desktop icon to load your remote desktop

Please note that there is restricted functionality when using Azure Virtual Desktop from within a web browser:-

• You cannot use your Azure Virtual Desktop over multiple screens
• Call quality for Teams and other call/video applications might be reduced
• Scanners or other hardware might not work as expected
